Technical Manual Developer

Provide Logistics support for the introduction of the Expeditionary Mobile Base (ESBs) currently being acquired by the Navy’s Program Office for Strategic and Theater Sealift (PMS 385).  Duties include reviewing Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD) and Supplemental Provisioning Technical Documentation (SPTD), technical manuals, and lists of spare and repair parts and other logistics support elements for accuracy and completeness relative to the specific ship class being supported in a timely manner to meet planned operational capability and deployment dates.   The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of current logistic support policies and practices as applied to shipboard machinery, equipment and systems.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, editing and correcting Technical Manuals for accuracy and applicability to ESB fleet operational introduction.
  • Assisting in the development of the logistic support system technical documentation for ships under construction for the U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command (MSC).
  • Administrative and analytic support to U.S. Navy clients in the ship acquisition and design community.


  • College graduate.
  • Familiarity with shipboard systems and equipment on U.S. Naval Ships operated by the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
  • Familiarity with working with and manipulating equipment and system technical manuals and documentation.
  • Ability to grasp information quickly and work synergistically in a team environment.
  • Ability  to obtain a security clearance.
